Could you please tell us when Cuure was established and who were the founders?

Cuure was founded in 2019 by Jules and me. Over the past three years, we’ve embarked on a transformative journey in the health and wellness sector. Our goal has been to address the widespread micronutrient deficiencies by personalizing dietary supplements, and to increase transparency and understanding around these products. Our shared vision and relentless drive have fueled our efforts to create a company that truly places the well-being of individuals at the forefront.

 

Could you share a bit about your background before starting Cuure?

Prior to Cuure, both Jules and I had experience with start-ups and scale-ups in the United States. I was the COO of a food-tech start-up where we scaled the business from 0 up to $20 million in revenue. Jules, on the other hand, was the head of growth for a lingerie start-up, where he was instrumental in growing the business from $20 to $100 million.

 

What inspired you to start your own company? Have you always had an entrepreneurial spirit?

I’ve always known that I wanted to be an entrepreneur, in large part due to my parents who themselves were entrepreneurs. I had this aspiration from a young age and started working on a project while I was still studying. I joined a start-up in the US at the end of my master’s degree, which was my first taste of entrepreneurship. After that experience, it felt natural to start something of my own.

 

Cuure has grown quite rapidly. What do you think has been key to this evolution?

I believe a significant factor in our quick growth has been our previous experiences. Jules and I had already learned a lot from our previous roles, which gave us a solid foundation for Cuure. We had developed a network, had a track record, and had learned from our past mistakes. We also had advisors who provided valuable insights and feedback. Moreover, our focus on execution and our ability to quickly test, iterate, and scale our ideas contributed to our rapid growth.

 

Could you elaborate on how Valerian helped Cuure and at what stage?

Valerian stepped in at a pivotal moment for us, when we were preparing to roll out large-scale media campaigns and our brand was already gaining traction. This was about a year ago. Valerian’s support enabled us to proceed with our ambitious plans without jeopardizing our existing finances.

 

What were the benefits of using Valerian?

Valerian’s support was instrumental in helping us navigate financial risks more confidently. They provided the additional financial resources we needed to expand beyond our own means, empowering us to make bolder decisions and seize growth opportunities that we would have otherwise missed. Their involvement lowered the cost of taking calculated risks, allowing us to push the boundaries of what we could achieve.

 

Lastly, could you share your plans for Cuure’s future?

Our mission is to help people feel better and take better care of themselves in the best way possible. We aim to continue developing our company in line with our ambition, benefiting as many people as possible, at least in Europe. We hope to do this with a team that is passionate and eager to carry this mission with us. As an entrepreneur, I would be satisfied to see that we have a great team that is happy to work towards a mission that resonates with its consumers.
